Employee Performance Awards

The Situation
A well-known manufacturer of consumer packaged goods asked for PSG’s input in 2004 with regards to improving employee safety in their warehouses and facilities nationwide. 

 

The client needs included:

• A relatively small number of cards
• Graphic customization
• Communication of award specifics with card delivery
• Quarterly enrollment to follow the quarterly promotion timeline
• Cards with a short-term expiration, as employee turnover was a concern

The Solution
PSG worked through all these potential issues by sourcing a single-load. stock Visa gift card that was overprinted with the company logo and creating a customized insert delivered with all cards.  Start-up costs were minimal, branding objectives were achieved, and two natural byproducts of a successful incentive have been noted: employee retention has improved AND the safety initiative has been a resounding success, lowering workers compensation and insurance costs.

 

The Result
The program has been approved for a third year with expansion into other employee teams; additional new award criteria may include attendance, years of service and other performance related measures for different user groups.
